Energy Audit

Comprehensive energy auditing that assesses building energy use for heating, air-conditioning, lighting, appliances, motors, pumps and fans, and controls. Energía will undertake comprehensive building diagnostics including utilizing blower door units, duct blasters, infrared cameras, combustion and gas leakage safety testing, heating and air conditioning system analysis, code compliance, plumbing and electrical system analysis, and moisture testing. We also offer building energy modeling, utility rates analysis and ventilation threshold calculation.

Energía is a full service energy services firm. Our services include the following:

Project Management and Financing

• Project agreement and financing package: A customized energy services agreement structured to address the specific needs of the client. In addition, Energía can arrange financing for retrofits and upgrades with costs being paid from verified savings achieved.

• Project management and construction: Our experienced staff holds quality work and customer satisfaction paramount in delivering projects on-time and on-budget. Since we do most of the installation work ourselves we know what it means to be on-site and manage subcontractors according to our higher standards.

• Performance measurement and verification: Whether under a guaranteed performance contract or not, Energía will follow up post-installation to confirm proper installation and commissioning, and track ongoing resource usage and savings.

• Operation and maintenance: Energía will help building owners plan and implement maintenance procedures and operational best practices to optimize efficiency and maximize equipment life and reduce equipment down-time and failure.

• Performance contract with guaranteed energy savings component: Installation of energy projects at Owner facilities paid for in part or whole out of the energy savings stream that the project generate. Scope includes investment grade audit, construction, and operations phases.

Building Energy Contracting

• Air sealing: Extensive caulking, foaming, weatherstripping, sealing and blocking of paths for convection within the building envelope.

• Healthy and High Performance Insulation: Covering walls, attics, basements, stairways, ducts, and pipes. Cellulose (densepack and loosefill), spray foam, rigid foam, and heat barriers.

• HVAC: upgrading or replacing heating and cooling systems and improving indoor air circulation systems (including duct work, blowers, and fans);

• Ventilation: Attic, gable, roof, bath, kitchen, dryer

• Electrical: Demand response controls including light sensors and thermostat control, replacing lighting fixtures and light bulbs;

• Windows and Doors: replacing windows with low-E double-insulated units, caulking around windows, replacing doors, interior and exterior storms, and adding sweeps and weather stripping to minimize heating and cooling loss;

• Plumbing: replace toilets, showerheads and faucet aerators to minimize water use and install heat recovery piping for tub and shower drains.

• Appliances: replacing appliances with Energy Star energy efficient appliances. Adding power strips and timers for shutting off phantom loads.

• Renewable Energy: As part of a package of services Energía can facilitate the installation of solar hot water and/or solar electric services for your home.

Education, Training & Consulting
