About Energia LLC

We are a worker-owned, socially responsible insulation contractor based in Holyoke, MA, dedicated to building an equitable and sustainable future across Western Massachusetts. As the region’s trusted energy efficiency leader, we combine community-first values with the capacity to scale and execute complex projects. We specialize in deep energy retrofits and high-performance building standards, consistently delivering projects that achieve Energy Star, LEED, Passive House, and Living Building Challenge certifications.

Energía’s mission is to create efficient and healthy buildings that transform our communities and environments into thriving places to live and work.

Energia History

Energía was formed by Co-op Power and Nuestras Raices and has been owned by community organizations and the workers. The original owner organizations included Nuestras Raices, Co-op Power, Nueva Esperanza and the Energia Worker Cooperative. Each of these organizations brought a unique set of expertise and resources to this triple-bottom-line (socially, environmentally, and financially-focused) venture. In September 2018 Energia became 100% owned by the Energia Worker Cooperative.
